Driving licence in Hong Kong
Driving licences in Hong Kong are issued by the Transport Department in Hong Kong. A full driving licence is usually valid for 10 years〔(Other Changes )〕 and is compulsory in order to drive a motor vehicle.〔(Development and Changes of Driving Licences )〕 Most driving licences are issued after the applicant passed a driving test for the respective type of vehicles. They may be issued without a test if the applicant is a holder of an overseas driving licence issued on passing a driving test by one of the approved countries.
==Format==
In Hong Kong, driving licence need to be use along with other identity document so it contain less information than most other counties. The current version only contain the holder's name, identity number (usually the same as HKID number), driving entitlements and date of issue.〔(Hong Kong Driving Licence )〕
